IB study suggests Philippine fruit bats may be entirely new species of their own based on DNA data

A recent study conducted in the Institute of Biology using mitochondrial DNA barcodes suggests that Philippine fruit bat species may be classified as a species of their own due to their high sequence divergence with specimens found in other Southeast Asian countries.
