Conservation Tools for Young Conservationists

July 04, 2025

Let’s spend a day learning how we can better protect our Philippine biodiversity together.

This July 7, 2025, we invite students and early-career conservationists to join us at the Institute of Biology, UP Diliman (Room 250) for a free workshop on practical conservation tools you can use in your fieldwork, research, and community initiatives.

The workshop will be joined by mentors from the ZSL EDGE Fellowship, a global program that supports early-career conservationists in protecting Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered species around the world. We will also learn about Gomphandra coi, a Philippine EDGE species, and explore how we can apply conservation tools to help protect species like it in our forests.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Conservation Standards

  • Ecological Methods for Population Estimation and Distribution

  • Social Science Methods for Conservation

Participation is free, and this is a rare opportunity to meet global mentors while connecting with fellow young conservationists who share your passion for protecting Philippine flora and fauna.

Slots are limited, and we encourage you to register early. Please wear comfortable clothes, bring your notebooks, and come ready to learn, ask questions, and build your conservation journey.
