To ensure that your specimens can be accommodated, contact the Invertebrate Museum curator (firstname.lastname@example.org), co-curators (email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org) or museum researcher before bringing the specimens to the Institute. Please include the following information when contacting us:
a. Names of requesting party (give all the names to be included in the certification)
- Institutional affiliation
- Taxa of specimens for identification (i.e. mollusks, insects, crustaceans, etc.)
- Habitat of specimens (i.e. marine, freshwater, brackish, terrestrial, parasites)
- Purpose of authentication/identification
If specimen is soft bodied or contains living tissue, preserve in ethanol or freeze before submission. Dried specimens such as empty shells do not have to be kept in preservative fluid.
Sort specimens according to morphospecies before submission. Include tentative identification, if any. Also provide collection data if available (i.e. source, date collected, etc.)
Processing times vary depending on the kind and number of specimens for authentication. If you wish to avail of this service, please give sufficient time for processing.
Payment will be made when claiming of the certification.
