The partnership for the Biodiversity Conservation and Monitoring Program (BCMP) which started its two phases in 2008 and 2012 is expected to be continued into its third phase after a memorandum of agreement signing between the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) and the University of the Philippines (UP). This partnership, pioneered by three outstanding scientists — the late Dr. Perry Ong, Dr. Leonard Co, and Dr. Daniel Lagunsad, is expected to focus on the Biodiversity Metrics, Flagship Species Initiative, Flora Conservation, Botanical Treasures and the establishment of the UP-Institute of Biology (UPIB)-EDC Biodiversity Hub.
