UP OVPAA Research Dissemination Grant (RDG for UP System) – funding for paper presentation in international conferences. (See OVPAA website for requirements) 

Faculty Research Dissemination Grant (RDG for UP Diliman) – funding for presenting in international conferences, including local meetings with >Php 50,000 worth of expenses (faculty members who have not received the grant during the same calendar year will be prioritized)

 Faculty Development Fund (FDF for UPD CS) – funding for presenting in national conferences, including local meetings with <Php 50,000 worth of expenses

TRAVEL PERMITS FOR CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS, AND SEMINARS 

A. Local travel (less than 30 days)

When traveling within Metro Manila, please inform the admin office regarding your travels. No forms are necessary.

When traveling outside Metro Manila, please request a travel order from the Dean (College of Science) by completing the following forms at least 3 days before the trip (for requests without reimbursements) and at least 2 weeks (for requests with reimbursements):

1. Special Detail (Local Travel) Form to request for a travel order

2. A copy of the invitation and/or acceptance from requesting agency or host institution

3. Vehicle request form (when using IB vehicle)

4. At the end of the travel, submit a complete and detailed report of work within 40 days after return to duty [Article 342 of the University Code].

* For travel reimbursements, faculty may request funding by accomplishing the additional requirements:

a. Cover Letter to the Dean (for expenses <Php 50K; otherwise, addressed to the Chancellor)

b. Certificate of appearance and travel completion forms

B. International travel

1. Prepare the following documents (all in PDF format): 

          • Cover letter addressed to the Chancellor (through channels), which should be endorsed by the IB Director 
          • Signed Conforme/Appointment of the OIC (if with administrative load)1
          • Invitation/Acceptance Letter
          • Program/Abstract
          • Faculty Service Record
          • Proof of Funding Resource (if any) 
          • Accomplished Form 1 Self Assessment Questionnaire signed by the IB Director
          • Documents may be obtained from Office of International Linkages (OIL) – Travel Authority Application forms
          • For long term travels (>30 days) and study leaves – additional documents may be obtained from Office of International Linkages (OIL) – (e.g. Special Detail Form).

2. Ask for a DRS number c/o of Ate Nissa, which is to be placed in your endorsed cover letter 

3. Upload all requirements through the UTAK portal (Note: The email of Dean Tapang to be used for UTAK approval is as follows: gatapang@up.edu.ph).

5. During the conference, please accomplish the following documents: Certificate of appearance and travel completion forms

6. At the end of the travel, submit a complete and detailed travel report form (obtain from OIL) within 40 days after return to duty [Article 342 of the University Code].
