The Regen Lab is focused on the study of cell proliferation and cellular aging. We investigate why some cells no longer divide (cellular senescence), while others proliferate indefinitely (cancer and stem cells). We are exploring how Philippine biodiversity can help identify compounds that are capable of promoting tissue regeneration and preventing malignant tumor growth. We are also exploring how the environment influences cell proliferation and how it contributes to disease development and progression.
