Aquatic Animal Nutrigenomics Laboratory (ANL) explores how nutrition shapes the biology of aquatic animals—from gene expression to whole-organism performance—through the integration of genomics, molecular biology, and feed science. Its research thrust centers on integrating nutrition with underlying molecular mechanisms to generate actionable insights that drive the development of precise, sustainable aquafeeds. Through this approach, ANL advances innovations that enhance fish health and welfare, maximize feed efficiency, and promote resilient, resource-efficient aquaculture systems.

ANL is supported by research grants and institutional funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) councils, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (DA-NFRDI), National Science Research Institute (NSRI), and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (OVCRD), including PhD Incentive Awards.
