IB mciroscope

With the combined support of UP Diliman Chancellor Michael L. Tan and UP System President Alfredo E. Pascual, the Institute of Biology was able to procure 98 new monocular microscopes for the Biology 11 and 12 courses. This will benefit the almost 500 students of both service courses. For at least 50 years, Biology 11 and 12 students have been using an older microscope model, which has been worn out through the years. The new microscopes will allow the students to better visualize different organisms and internal structures. As a result, this will improve our students’ understanding of biology.

Apart from this, the Institute was also able to procure 33 new binocular microscopes for its cell and molecular biology courses. These will be used by undergraduate and graduate students, both for class and their research work.
