Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson (born Melanie Elizabeth Bownds) was born on 2 March 1980 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to professional dog handlers Sue Bownds and Jack Bounds. The University of New South Wales law and arts graduate, who initially wanted to pursue mathematics, was already a successful actress in her country with her acting prowess showcased in TV series such as Pizza (2003-2007), The Wedge (2006 to 2007), Monster House (2008) and Bogan Pride (self wrote, 2008) before she had a big success in the Hollywood for her portrayal of Brynn in the 2011 comedy film Bridesmaid alongside the acting talents such as Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Matt Lucas.
